The Apostles' Creed forms the foundation of our statement of faith: We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of a virgin, Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hades, and on the third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From Heaven He shall come to earth again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, one holy catholic church, the communion of all true saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the gift of everlasting life.
As a member school, North Star also affirms the statement of faith provided by the Association of Classical Christian schools.
The Statement of Faith in our Articles of Incorporation includes the following statement of the Bible’s foundational authority: “We believe that God reveals Himself through the creation, preservation, and government of the universe. We believe that God makes Himself more clearly and fully known through the Scriptures, which are the only inerrant and infallible Word of God, our ultimate and final authoritative rule for faith and practice. These Scriptures are made up of 66 books, from Genesis to Revelation, the authority of which depend not upon the testimony of any man or church, and are all to be received as the Word of God.” Occasionally it is necessary to address how the School’s commitment to the authority of Scripture affects its teaching and its practices concerning particular cultural issues. Governing documents and the student handbook will have updated statements on such matters.
In essentials, Unity. In non-essentials, Liberty. In all things, Charity.
